IGL hikes piped natural gas prices
Press Trust of India / New Delhi Jul 01, 2010, 21:17 IST

After CNG, Indraprastha Gas (IGL) today hiked the price of the piped natural gas it supplies to households for cooking purposes by about Re 1 per cubic metre, in view of rise in input costs.

IGL raised the price of piped natural gas (PNG) from Rs 15.92 per cubic metre to Rs 16.85 per cubic metre in Delhi for customers consuming up to 90 cubic metres of PNG in four months, the company said, adding that the hike would come into effect from today.

For customers consuming more than 90 cubic metres in four months, the price would be Rs 21.12 per cubic metre, IGL said.

For Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, IGL raised the price of piped gas by about Re 1, to Rs 18.32 per cubic metre, for costumers consuming up to 90 cubic metres in four months.

For consumers consuming more than 90 cubic metres in four months, the price would be Rs 21.93.

IGL had, on June 15, raised CNG prices by over 25 per cent but deferred the hike in piped gas prices.

With the government raising domestic LPG prices by Rs 35 per cylinder, IGL raised piped gas prices.
