IIFT bags highest business school rating
Announcement / Corporate Feb 03, 2011, 13:00 IST

Based on an eight point scale, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade has got the highest rating in India from CRISIL Education Grading

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade has recently added another feather in its cap as the renowned rating agency, Credit Rating and Information Services of India Ltd (CRISIL) has awarded the Institute highest grading in a B-school category.

Recently Credit Rating and Information Services of India Ltd (CRISIL) announced the launch of its pioneering service, grading of educational institutions, beginning with the business school segment. CRISIL will provide an independent, robust and all-round assessment of the ability of an institute to impart quality education and achieve desired student outcomes through the graded programmes. CRISIL has awarded IIFT a rating of National A*** & State NCR A***, which is the highest rating in the category.

The grading is an in-depth and interactive evaluation exercise which classifies management education programs on an eight-point scale: from 'A***' to 'B'. The highest grading that a school can get is 'A***. India has a large number of business schools (almost 2500). CRISIL has, therefore, incorporated a unique feature - each program is graded on a national scale (relative to other such programs across India) and a state scale (relative to other such programs in the same state).

"It is indeed a very proud moment for IIFT to be awarded highest grading by CRISIL. In more than four decades of IIFT's existence, we have built a niche for ourselves and are constantly striving towards fulfilling our pioneering role " said Mr K.T.Chacko, Director IIFT.

The assessment process covers every aspect such as vision, mission, pedagogy, industry alignment, admission, assessments, industry interface, placement, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Students and parents can make better informed choices about business schools. Recruiters will be able to obtain a wealth of information on business school programmes which will enable their recruitment efforts to be more focused and better aligned with corporate objectives.
