| IIM-B now a member of Graduate Management Admission Council |

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the association of international graduate business schools and owner of the GMAT exam, has admitted the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore as its newest member.
IIMB was selected to join 178 other leading business schools from 19 countries by the GMAC Board of Directors. The Indian School of Business is also a member of GMAC.
“We are pleased to welcome the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, under the leadership of Director and Professor Pankaj Chandra, to our ranks,” said David A Wilson, GMAC president and CEO.
“It is clearly recognised as an institution that is at the forefront of graduate management education around the world, upholding the high standards of excellence and integrity that represent membership in the Council.”
The Institute was established in 1973 and is considered one of India’s leaders in management education and research promoting managerial excellence. It has numerous partnerships with industry and academic institutions around the world.
Founded by a group of business school deans in 1954, GMAC is a non-profit education organisation composed of leading graduate business schools around the world and dedicated to creating access to and advancing graduate management education.
GMAC also owns and administers the GMAT exam, which is used as part of the admissions process at more than 4,700 graduate management education programs in almost 2,000 business schools.
The Graduate Management Admission Council is based in McLean, Virginia, and has a European office in London.
