Imation’s DataGuard, the ’Terabyte-Class’ transport & storage case offering protection for data tapes
Announcement / Corporate Oct 28, 2009, 20:24 IST

Transport & Storage case that provides the highest level of protection for your cartridges to help ensure the safety of vital company information.

Imation India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN), a leading global developer and marketer of branded offerings that enable people to capture, save and enjoy digital information, has been offering the first "terabyte-class" transport and storage case specifically designed to protect a company's high-capacity data storage tapes during transportation. Imation’s DataGuard Transport and Storage Case, which is already available in the market, offers interchangeable inserts that are slotted and cushioned to provide optimal protection and can easily be reconfigured when necessary, with a simple snap-in and snap-out of the unique inserts.

According to Mr. Sandeep Popli, Head – Sales & Marketing, Imation India Pvt. Ltd., “As data storage tape cartridges move to capacities that will soon reach a full terabyte--and beyond--of corporate data on a single tape cartridge, the potential impact of a lost, stolen or damaged cartridge is magnified.  Rugged and ultra durable, the Imation DataGuard Transport and Storage Case has been tested to outperform other leading storage cases, with two- to four-times the G-force shock protection of other cases.”

The interchangeable inserts come in two configurations designed to accommodate LTO Ultrium(TM) 1, 2, 3 and 4 cartridges; DLTtape(TM) and Super DLTtape(TM) cartridges; IBM 3480/3490, 3590/3590E and 3592 cartridges; and Sun StorageTek T9840, T9940 and T10000 cartridges. Foamless construction of inserts keeps cartridges free from dust and debris.

DataGuard cases interlock and stack neatly to help conserve valuable shelf or floor space. The press and pull latches in these cases ensure strong hold upon impact and easy release at the push of a button. What’s more, DataGuard is water-resistant protecting cartridges from leaks during rain, moisture and accidental submersion. Not to forget the thermal protection that it offers– protecting the valuable cartridges against any damage from fire. Imation DataGuard is available in bright yellow color for high visibility such that the risk of misplacement, loss or theft is minimized.

Imation DataGuard Transport & Storage Case with interchangeable inserts is available through Imation’s authorized channel partners at a price of Rs.9,500/-(MRP).
