India Cements, Infotech Ent & Chambal Fertilisers Q3 results

India Cements net rises 59%
 
India Cements has posted a net profit of Rs 127.05 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007. The company recorded 59 per cent growth in net profit over corresponding quarter of 2006. Total Income, too, increased 58 per cent to Rs 857.56 crore from Rs 543.92 crore.
 
The accounts for the current quarter have been prepared after taking into account the transactions of the erstwhile Visaka Cement Industry (VCIL).
 
Infotech Enterprises profit marginally up
 
Mumbai: Hyderabad-based Infotech Enterprises’ consolidated net profit grew 0.25 per cent for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 at Rs 20.05 crore from Rs 20 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year. Total income was up 27.4 per cent at Rs 182.20 crore as compared with Rs 143.06 crore.
 
Chairman and Managing Director B V R Mohan Reddy said,”Our diversified revenue portfolio, both in currencies and geographies, makes us believe that the operating margins are not likely to be impacted any further, barring dramatic currency movement.”
 
Chambal Fertilisers Q3 net down 9%
 
Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals, a KK Birla group company, today posted a 9.67 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 63.35 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, as against Rs 70.13 crore for the same period last year.
 
However, the total income of the firm increased 3.01 per cent at Rs 822.85 crore for the period under review as compared to Rs 798.76 crore for the same quarter last year, the company informed the BSE.
 
Shares of Chambal Fertilisers were trading at Rs 77.50, down 4.32 per cent in the afternoon trading session on the BSE.
