India's largest Manufacturing Expo - IMS 2010 - to be held in October

More than 1000 companies comprising MSMEs, large industries and PSUs from India and abroad will participate in the India Manufacturing Show 2010 to be held from October 9 - 12, 2010 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore

The India Manufacturing Show 2010 (IMS 2010) being held from October 9-12 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore has invited companies from Maharashtra to be a part of the mega event. IMS 2010 is being jointly organized for the first time by Laghu Udyog Bharathi (LUB) – Karnataka and K and D Communication, Ahmedabad with the support of the Government of Karnataka, Ministry of MSME, Government of India and National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC).

IMS 2010 provides the ideal opportunity for participants to be part of the single largest convergence of the best talent from manufacturing and engineering industries across the globe and share the best practices among their peers, business associates and competitors from the international arena. IMS 2010 will witness the presence of MSME sector, large industries and PSUs from India and abroad in full force. Technical seminars, technical and management seminars, vendor development programs and buyer seller meet would also be a part of the exhibition.

The participating industries would also include aerospace engineering, automation & robotics, automotive industries, CAD, CAM & software engineering, construction, earthmoving equipments & machines, power engineering, wires & cables, etc apart from a host of other specialty industries like forming technologies, industrial safety equipments and foundry & casting engineering.

The curtain raiser to the event was recently held in Bangalore where the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri B S Yedyurappa unveiled the logo of India Manufacturing Show 2010. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were Shri Murugesh R Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, Shri G Janardhan Reddy, Tourism Minister, Government of Karnataka, Mr H V S Krishna, National Vice President, Laghu Udyog Bharathi and Chairman, Organizing Committee, IMS 2010, Mr Kamalesh Gohil, Managing Director, K and D Communication Limited and Mr Sajjan Jindal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, JSW Steel Limited and Chairman, Advisory Committee IMS 2010.

Commenting on the curtain raiser, Shri Murugesh R Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, said, “The MSME sector in the country needs active support of governments and other industry bodies, so that they can contribute significantly to nation building. I urge all industries to actively participate in IMS 2010 and make it a grand success. India is becoming a global industrial manufacturing hub and has recently been ranked among the top 10 industrial manufacturing countries in the world.”

According to a recent CII-BCG report, Indian manufacturing industry has witnessed a good annual growth rate of around 6.8 percent over the last 10 years (1999-2009) making India one of the best performing manufacturing economies in the world. Manufacturing contributes to 15 percent of India's GDP. The study says India will grow at the rate of 11% p.a. over the next 15 years which will make it the fourth largest manufacturing economy in the world by 2025 and generate between 50-90 mn additional jobs by 2025.

The probable list of some participating organizations at IMS 2010 is BEML, BEL, BHEL, HAL, IREDA, SAIL, NSIC, BFW, Bosch, Volvo, Toyota-Kirloskar, Railways, KSRTC, TVS, Ashok Leyland, SKF, Tata Group, etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr H V S Krishna, National Vice President, Laghu Udyog Bharathi and Chairman, Organizing Committee, IMS 2010, said, “Laghu Udyog Bharathi aims at providing required facilities for the growth and development of SSIs in India. The small scale sector has distinct advantages of low investment and high potential for employment generation in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. LUB works for the uplift of small scale industries and inspires its members to keep healthy relationship with the owners, management, workers, customers, suppliers, financiers and government establishments.”

Mr Kamalesh Gohil, Managing Director, K and D Communication Limited, added, “This exhibition will be one-of-its-kind and immensely help the participating companies. We are glad to be hosting this event in Bangalore and bringing the entire manufacturing industry under one roof. India is a manufacturing powerhouse and we want to show this to the entire world.”
