Industry recognition and honour for path breaking power projects

Known for making the promise of renewable resources a reality in India and Africa, Mr. Sourabh Sen, Co-Chairman of Astonfield Renewable Resources Ltd. has been conferred with the Udyog Rattan Award and his company Astonfield has been awarded the Excellence Award.

Institute of Economic Studies (IES) held a Seminar on “ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT”on the 8th of October. The award presentation ceremony was held at India Habitat Center on 8th October 2009. His Excellency Mr. Korn Dabbaransi, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand inaugurated the Seminar. The occasion saw the congregation of dignitaries, officials and prominent personalities from the crème of Indian business and political scenario.

Astonfield Renewable Resources Limited (ARRL) was founded in 2005 with the mission of developing and providing world-class renewable energy solutions to growing nations and a genuine desire to further these economies under a public-private partnership structure. In addition to solar PV, ARRL is also developing renewable energy plants using biomass and municipal solid waste-to-energy technologies. ARRL has project allotments and/or active business development operations in eight different states across India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sen said: "I am very pleased and humbled to receive this award from such a well-respected entity. Myself and the team at Astonfield have worked tirelessly to make utility-scale renewable energy power projects a reality in India, and though we still have a way to go, it is nice to be reminded to look back and see how much progress has been made.”

The previous recipients of this prestigious award include Vijay Mallaya, R Krishna Bajaj, H S Singhania, Dr B K Modi, B R Chopra, Renuka Ramnath and H P Nanda.
