| The state governments are outsourcing the e-governance projects to the company under Bharat Nirman Vision of the central government.
|
| |
| "The company is undertaking some of the government of India's projects through its business unit, Internet Data Centre (IDC). The estimated cost of the project will run into crores of rupees," said Sunil Gupta, head, marketing and business operations, IDC.

| The Karnataka government's 'Bhoomi' project for putting all land records in e-format along with BangaloreOne, a citizens' initiative is expected to be completed by March next year by the consortium. Both the projects had gone live in April 2005.

| These projects necessitate putting up new applications, additional hardware and software and setting up and monitoring a data centre.

| E-Biz is the other project under which various state governments have gathered together for the e-governance initiative. The states include Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
|
| |
| The project is undertaken by a consortium, which was formed under the National Initiative of Smart Goverance (NISG), of which Reliance Infocomm is a partner. Cap Gemini, Microsoft Corporation and government agencies such as Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and National Informatics Centre are the other members.

| The third project is to set up a portal for public grievances, which is also being undertaken by the consortium. All the projects would be completed by March next year. |
