Jain Agro Food to launch bottled tender coconut water

With an aim to create its base in Western India, Bangalore-based Jain Agro Food Products Pvt Ltd is planning to launch bottled tender coconut water under the brand name ‘Cocojal’ in Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat on January 1, 2010.
The company has appointed Maharashtra Agro Food Product Enterprises (MAFPE) as a sole distributor for Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat. MAFPE is in the process of appointing district-level distributors across these three states.
Presently, Cocojal is being sold out in Delhi and Bangalore. The company’s coconut water processing plant is located near Bangalore.
“Tender coconut water is a gift of nature, rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins. The harmful effect of the synthetic drinks on human health has induced health conscious consumers to depend on natural drinks like tender coconuts. This change in the consumer behaviors in turn is increasing the demand for tender coconut water in the country. Considering this fact, we are planning to launch tender coconut water-‘Cocojal’ in Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat,” Dhananjay Pange, proprietor, MAFPE, told Business Standard
“Tender coconut water- ‘Cocojal’ will be available in 200 ml bottle at a retail price of Rs. 20 each. The life of Cocojal will be 9 to 18 months. We are planning to launch ‘Cocojal’ in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa on 1st January 2010. We are in the process of appointing district distributors in all districts across these three states,” Pange said.
“Cocojal soon will be available in railway stations, bus terminals, airlines, star hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, super markets, retail outlets, medical stores & hospitals across Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat,” he added.
