| The company is analysing possibility of setting up manufacturing units there.

| A delegation led by Zambian Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives Mundia F Sikatana visited the company head quarter last week. The company also had preliminary talks with the minister.

| A senior company executive said, “Jain Irrigation is keen on investing in Zambia but the project details have not been finalised. The investment can be in sugarcane cultivation or a manufacturing unit. We are even willing to undertake some farm projects.”

| The high commissioner of Zambia in India also visited the company executives. He was accompanied by Vinit Verma, deputy director, agriculture ministry.

| “The delegation was keen on knowing new methods of irrigation. They visited all production facilities and the research and development farm.They have expressed interest in the drip and the sprinkler irrigation, tissue culture of banana, fruit and vegetable processing. In addition they have also shown interest in the renewable natural energy resources,” officials said.

| “The delegation is impressed by the irrigation equipments and found it ideal for the agricultural industry in Zambia,” said Jain Irrigation officials.

| “As part of the Indian’s ‘Focus Africa program’ Jain Irrigation is confident of necessary support from the government,” official added. |
