Jaiprakash Associates today reported a 13 per cent jump in its cement sales for September at 692,000 tonnes.     

The company had sold 614,000 lakh tonnes of cement in September 2008, Jaiprakash Associates said in a statement.

In the first half of the current fiscal, the company has sold 451,000 lakh tonnes of cement as compared with 355,700 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Jaiprakash Associates is the third largest cement producer in the country with an installed production capacity of 14.7 million tonnes per annum.     

The company is planning to increase the capacity to 25 million tonnes per annum by March 2010.
