The greenfield facility, constructed at Sewagram in Kutch, was completed in 33 months. It generated employment for over 3,000 people.
The firm said it has invested Rs 1,500 crore in the Phase I of the cement plant, which has taken JAL's total cement capacity to 17.1 million tonnes a year.
Talking about the company's future plans, Gaur said: "In FY08, we had total installed capacity of 9 million tonnes per annum and we are poised to take the same to 35.55 million tonnes per annum FY12."
