| Jaithirth 'Jerry' Rao has been asked to report to the new Asia-Pacific region head by the $20 billion Electronic Data Systems (EDS).
|
| |
| Recently, EDS publicly stated that it had appointed Joe Eazor as senior vice-president and general manager of its expanded Asia-Pacific region and Rao would be reporting to him.
|
| |
| When EDS acquired the majority control of MphasiS in July 2006 for $380 million, EDS appointed Jerry Rao as vice-president and general manager, EDS operations in India.
|
| |
| EDS had said that in his new role, Rao would spearhead EDS' business efforts in India and would become the non-executive chairman of MphasiS and would report directly to the EDS chairman.
|
| |
| A spokesperson for EDS said, "With the formation of an expanded Asia-Pacific region for EDS in January, Jerry Rao's reporting relationship did change.
|
| |
| Joe Eazor, who had been head of our Asia region, which consisted of China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, was asked to head the expanded region, which now includes Australia, New Zealand and India. With the addition of India into the Asia-Pacific region, it was appropriate and consistent with EDS practice to have Rao report to Eazor."

| |
| EDS in a statement said the change is part of EDS' ongoing efforts to simplify its structure and adopt a general management approach to regional leadership. |
