J&K govt distributes Rs 14.90 lakh to BPL families

Minister for Agriculture Abdul Aziz Zargar distributed cheques worth Rs 12 lakh among 87 families at Damhal Hanji Pora in Anantnag, while MLA Ghulam Nabi Bhat distributed cheques amounting to Rs 2.90 lakh among 112 families of Tral tehsil of Pulwama district, an official spokesperson said today.
The cheques were provided as financial assistance to these families for construction of their low cost dwellings, the spokesperson said.
Government has decided to provide Rs 24 lakh to people living below poverty line in Noorabad area of Anantnag for construction of their shelter sheds under IAY later this month.
