Judicial custody of Raju and aides extended till July 22
BS Reporter / Hyderabad Jul 08, 2009, 14:44 IST

The XIV additional chief metropolitan magistrate on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of former Satyam Computer Services Limited founder B Ramalinga Raju and other accused in the multi-crore Satyam scam till July 22.

Raju, his brother and former managing director Rama Raju, former chief financial officer Srinivas Vadlamani, PriceWaterhouse auditors S Gopalakrishnan and T Srinivas along with Satyam employees G Ramakrishna, D Venkatapathi Raju and Ch Srisailam, who are lodged at Chanchalguda Jail here, were brought to the court today. Another accused in the case Suryanarayana Raju, who secured anticipatory bail, also appeared before the court. The magistrate extended the judicial remand by 14 days after their remand ended today.

Meanwhile, the magistrate posted the petitions of Raju’s sons B Teja Raju and B Rama Raju for hearing on July 22. Teja Raju sought court's direction to CBI to defreeze his four bank accounts. He said in the petition that he was facing difficulty meeting various expenditures as  his accounts have been frozen.

Raju’s another son Rama Raju plead the court for a direction to the CBI, which seized his computer and laptop and two pen drives in connection with the investigation into Satyam case, to return them. They contained data related to a research being done by his wife, he said.
