Handset manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles, a joint venture between Delhi-based Jaina Group and Bangalore-based UTL group, today said it has inked a long-term sponsorship contract with the Indian Premier League (IPL).

As part of the deal, Karbonn Mobiles will be the IPL's Official Partner Mobile Phone, Karbonn said in a statement.

Chairman and Commissioner of IPL Lalit Modi said, "The company’s association with the IPL as its Official Partner Mobile Phone and the title sponsor for IPL Nights with MTV will prove to be a mutually beneficial partnership."

Karbonn Mobiles Managing Director Pradeep Jain said, "Our partnership with IPL is one of the largest sponsorship deals signed by an Indian mobile phone brand."
