Bangalore-based Kavveri Telecom Products has entered into an agreement to acquire the TIL-TEK Antenna division of Canadian firm Wi-LAN Inc.
Wi-LAN is listed on the Toronto Stock exchange and has manufacturing facilities in Kemptville, Ontario through its division TIL-TEK Antenna. The TIL-TEK Antenna division provides a complete line of base station and remote antennas in frequencies from 800 MHz to 5.8Ghz, with selected products from 300 MHz to 28GHz, the company said in a release to the exchanges.
TIL-TEK Antenna applications include cellular, GSM, PCS WLL/WLAN and rural point-to-multipoint systems as well as special applications such as radar test targets and digital audio broadcast antennae.
The company recently bagged a Rs 4.95 crore order from Reliance Infocomm for supplying radio frequency (RF) products and antennae. Reliance Infocomm has bought the products to strengthen its network and handle CDMA traffic across the country.
Kavveri Telecom recently secured orders for Rs 5.77 crore from Alcatel and World Space Corporation for supplying RF products and antennae. The company recently decided to set up a 100 per cent subsidiary in Canada with an investment of $2.5 million to secure export orders.
