| KEC International bags Rs 780 cr contracts; shares surge 8% |

Power transmission infrastructure developer KEC International today said it has bagged two contracts worth Rs 780 crore in domestic as well as global markets for engineering related works.
The company has won an order worth Rs 587 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL), KEC International said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The scope of work include construction, erection and commissioning of transmission lines along with sub-stations, the company said.
Besides, KEC International, a part of RPG Group, has also bagged orders worth Rs 193 crore in the Middle East. These projects would be executed in Kuwait, Oman and Abu Dhabi, UAE, it said.
"We look forward to winning many more orders in the domestic and international market in the current year," KEC International MD & CEO Ramesh Chandak said.
Shares of KEC International surged over 8 per cent and were trading at Rs 530.80 in the afternoon trade on BSE.
