S S Khurana will be replacing Shyam Kumar as the new general manager of the Eastern Railway.
Prior to this assignment, Khurana was was serving the North East Frontier Railway (BFR) as additional general manager.
He has also worked at different level in Central Orgination for Railway Electrification (CORE), South Eastern Railway and Research, Design and Standards Orginsation (RDSO), Lucknow in different stages of his carrier.
Meanwhile, Ashim Kumar Maitra has atken over as the divisional railway manager, Howrah, Eastern Railway with effect from May 3,2006.
Earlier, he was the executive director, Rail Movement of Railway Board in Kolkata.
Yesterday in a bengali news channel it was shown that due to hurry and low quality material the doubling work between Singur and Nalikul is been delayed. I went to Kamarkundu station and visited the spot and found it was horrible situation. Two or three officials were sitting in a hand driven with an open umbrella over and superviser were supervising bolder patching work. Over there I heard the officer to say that within a week the up Tarakeshwar local train will ply over the most unstabble track I had ever seen. So my request is to kindly pospond the commissioning of the train service over the new UP line till the completion of the on going work upto satisfaction.Visit the site and take dicession and kindly don't run after Ur carrier.
