Lalu demands tabling of Liberhan report in Parliament
Press Trust of India / Patna July 4, 2009, 15:40 IST

RJD chief Lalu Prasad today demanded tabling of the Liberhan Commission report in Parliament during the ongoing budget session and said that demolition of Babri Masjid was one of the "greatest crimes" against the secular character of the Constitution.

Now that the Commission has submitted its report, it was mandatory on the part of central government to immediately make the report public, Prasad told reporters.

He said: "The Congress is saying that it is going through the report. But why it is being delayed? Is it that illiterates are sitting there?"

Demolition of the masjid by constituents of the Sangh Parivar was one of the greatest crimes against the secular polity, Prasad said, adding that those found guilty by the commission should be severely punished.
