Landmark, a book and music retail chain of Tata Group’s subsidiary Trent Limited, plans to open five stores a year with an investment of Rs 5 crore each, said its chief operating officer Himanshu Chakrawarti.
Disclosing this to the media here on Tuesday, he said the company will launch two outlets in Hyderabad shortly, two in Mumbai and one in Chennai. The company, for the first time, will also launch a gaming zone to cater to the younger audience.
Landmark, which clocked a turnover of Rs 200 crore in 2008-09, has tied up with Disney to create a toy zone for kids, with a technology wing offering products like laptops, printers and hard disks, he said.
“Kids are a main segment for us,” he said, adding the company will host book reading sessions by authors, music and children events including summer camps, toy festivals and quiz competitions. Landmark is also partnering Hewlett Packard for setting up Photoland, wherein customers can edit and print photographs on their own.
