It is interesting that both India and China have reaffirmed the need to keep the Line of Actual Control (LAC) peaceful. At the same time, the border issue between India and China cannot be taken lightly and a bit of courage, vision and patience is needed as put forth by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. Wen’s candid views on the border issue are indeed a positive development on both the sides.
The need of the hour is to find a permanent and peaceful solution to the border question. Besides, effective steps should be taken to work out development in other areas such as economy, education and technology.
