When an actor of the stature of Aamir Khan refuses to acknowledge the creative input of Chetan Bhagat in his blockbuster movie 3 Idiots, it makes you realise just how poor the copyright protection is in India.
Bhagat was not asking for a share of the film’s collections, but just for an acknowledgment of his work. Bollywood biggies who are so used to ripping off from Hollywood movies clearly think nothing of doing this from a book written by an Indian author.
The script of the movie is not an original one.It has definately been lifted from 5 Point Someone directly and indirectly. Amazed that someone of the calibre of Aamir Khan refuses to acknowledge the same .Obviously Aamir and the board of directors would rather make their screenplay writer happy by giving him undue credit.
Lesson for Chetan..dont make rotten cotracts and make sure you get your due..The book '2 states' should make a great and hilarious movie if done well..Disappointed with Aaamir , have always been a great fan of him till date.
