| Lifeline Group of Hospitals on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the health ministry of the Zambia government to establish a state-of-the-art hospital in Zambia.

| Under the MoU, the Zambian government will provide five acres of land with an existing building. In the first phase, Lifeline will invest $10 million to construct additional buildings and operation theatres to facilitate a 100-bed hospital.

| Lifeline will also provide advanced equipment and run the facility as a commercial entity for a fee. The hospital will have a team of 300 medical personnel, including doctors and paramedical staff of which 80 per cent will be from Lifeline.

| “We will also identify and extend our services by reaching out to various other countries where healthcare is minimal,” Rajkumar, chairman, Lifeline Group of Hospitals, said.

| “Lifeline will also provide training to medical personnel from the University Teaching Hospital, Ndoia Central and Kitwe Central Hospital, Zambia, in India to better equip them on the latest medical treatments and procedures.”
