Capital goods major, L&T has secured a Rs 364 crore order from UP Rajya Vidyut Nigam (UPRVNL) for setting up a coal handling plant in Anpara, Uttar Pradesh and another Rs 489 crore order from Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) for setting up a coal handling plant at Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu.
UPRVNL is setting up the 2 x 500 Mega Watt Anpara Thermal Power Project, which is scheduled to be completed in 31 months.
NLC's 2 x 500 Mw project in TUticorin is being developed by a joint venture between the firm and Tamil Nadu Electric Board.
As part of the contracts, L&T will provide basic and detail engineering, supply, erection of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works, complete civil and structural works as well as testing and commissioning.
