L&T bagged a Rs 621-crore contract from DB Hospitality for the construction of India Tower at Charni Road, Mumbai, and another order from the ITC Group for the construction of the ITC Sonar Hotel at Kolkata amounting to Rs 238 crore, said a press release.

L&T also secured a Rs 367-crore order from NBCC for construction of a hospital at Coimbatore and for upgrade of six hospitals at Haryana. The company also won another order worth Rs 287 crore from Arshiya International for constructing India’s first free trade warehousing zone at Sai village, Panvel, near Mumbai, said L&T.

Suzlon Energy said the company will supply 27 units of Suzlon S88 – 2.1 Mw turbines, to be installed at the Seferihisar and Mordogan projects in eastern Turkey.

“Turkey is one of the key emerging wind markets in Europe and our relationship with Ayen Enerji puts us on a strong footing to take advantage of the considerable potential of this market,” said Sumant Sinha, COO, Suzlon Energy.

Ayen Enerji is one of Turkey’s major utilities, producing, distributing and selling electricity. With its subsidiaries, it has three hydroelectric units and one natural gas power plant, with total capacity of nearly 1.2 billion kWh. India Inc’s order book has more than doubled to an all-time high of Rs 73,320 crore in the second quarter of 2009-10, compared with the first quarter.
