Larsen and Toubro (L&T), has bagged the Balance of Plant (BoP) contract valued at Rs 1,635 crore from Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Co (MPPGCL) for two 600 Mw coal-fired power plants. Last week, L&T had bagged a Rs 6,897 crore order from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd for supply of three 660 Mw super-critical boiler turbine generator units.
The project was won against stiff competition from other domestic BoP bidders, L&T said in a press release.
The MPPGCL project is coming up in Khandwa and will generate about 28.8 million units to the grid every day once it is commissioned. The project is being funded by the state government and the Power Finance Corporation.
The contract will be implemented on a turnkey basis and L&T’s scope includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of the BoP systems, comprising coal handling and ash handling plants, water intake systems, effluent treatment plant, civil works, cooling towers, chimney, plant electrical systems and associated works.
