M Madhavan Nambiar to be new secretary, civil aviation

The Government today appointed M Madhavan Nambiar as secretary, ministry of civil aviation. Nambiar will replace Ashok Chawla who has been appointed as secretary in the department of economic affairs, ministry of finance.

Nambiar, a 1974 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been working as special secretary in the department of information technology, ministry of communications and information technology. 

Nambiar will be handed over the charge from Chawla on 17 September, 2008.
