Advertising agency Madison Media today said it has won the Best Communications Strategy award at the Festival of Media (FOM), held in Valencia, Spain.
The company said it has won the award for its BBC World Service Trust’s Anti–Aids Campaign.
"We are all delighted that our work done here in India has been recognised on a global platform," Madison Media Group CEO Punitha Arumugam said in a statement.
Talking about the campaign, the agency said it has used the insight that "the major deterrent against the use of condoms in India was the discomfort to mouth the word and the campaign sought to de-taboo the word".
A total of 50 awards in around 26 categories were given out during the event, out of which Indian agencies had bagged three awards, it said.
The festival had 28 jury members from around the world, including Maarten Albarda, Worldwide Director of Media & Communication Innovation, The Coca Cola Company and Mainardo de Nardis CEO of OMD Worldwide Harvey Goldhersz.
Madison Media is a unit of Madison World and operates across nine cities in India, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
