Management rejig at TechM, Mahindra Satyam
BS Reporter / Mumbai Jun 23, 2009, 00:07 IST

In a top-level shuffle at the Hyderabad-based IT firm Satyam Computer Services, re-branded as Mahindra Satyam, C P Gurnani is expected to take over as the chief executive officer of the firm. Sanjay Kalra, presently President Strategic Initiatives at Tech Mahindra, is expected to be elevated to the role of CEO of the firm.

Gurnani is presently the President, International Operations, at Tech Mahindra and takes care of the non-BT business. Gurnani will replace A S Murty, who was appointed as the CEO of Satyam by the government-appointed board. He is already on the board of Mahindra Satyam.

Subramaniam Durgashankar, earlier heading the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) cell of Mahindra & Mahindra, is being tipped to be the chief financial officer at Mahindra Satyam. Two more management people from Tech Mahindra are expected to join Mahindra Satyam at a senior level. The names of these officials could not be confirmed.

Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to announce the management rejig for Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra in a press conference to be held tomorrow.

Meanwhile, sources said that Kalra heading Tech Mahindra would be an obvious choice, as he handles the BT account, which contributes for more than 60 per cent of Tech Mahindra’s revenue.

As for Vineet Nayyar, he is already the vice chairman of the Satyam board and also vice chairman, managing director and CEO of Tech Mahindra. When contacted Tech Mahindra declined to comment.
