| Markets extend gains, Sensex above 16K |

The markets have gained strength in the last few minutes. The Sensex is now firmly up above 16,000-mark, at 16,043 - up 107 points. The Nifty is up 32 points at 4,792.

The Sensex continues to move in the positive terrain. The index is now at 15,969, up 33 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,772, up 11 points.
Infosys, Grasim Industries and ACC have advanced 2% each to Rs 2,444, Rs 2,604 and Rs 856, respectively.
TCS and Wipro have added 1.5% each at Rs 735 and Rs 646, respectively.
DLF and Reliance Infrastructure have slipped 1% each to Rs 307 and Rs 1,031, respectively.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,604 shares traded, 1,408 have advanced and 1,106 have declined so far on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, IT index has added 2% to 4,936 while the realty index has declined 1%, respectively.
