| Markets in a tight range |

The market is trading within a range of 40 odd points. The Sensex is at 18,600, down 44 points, while the Nifty is at 5587, down 16 16 points. On the other hand, in the broader markets there is no significant development. The smallcap index is ateady at 0.6% and the midcap index is satic at 0.4%.They cintinue to outperform as the benchmark index is down 0.3%.
Among the sectoral indices on the BSE,Health Care continues to lead at 0.4%. Paring most of its gains Consumer Durables, PSU and Auto index up 0.1% follows. Allthe other indices continue to be in red.Realty and Matal has extended their loses and is at 0.5% and 0.7% respectively.IT and Teck have marginally improved and is down 0.3% each. The draggers in the Realty space are Anant Raj Industries down nearly 2%, Orbit Corporation, HDIL and Indiabulls Real Estate shedding 1% each.
The top gainers in the Sensex-30 stocks are State Bank Of India and ACC up 1% each followed by Tata Power, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindustan Unilever gaining 0.8% each.
The losers on the Sensex are Tata Steel down 1%, Reliance Infrastructure shedding 0.8%, ITC, NTPC and Hindalco losing 0.6% each.
The market breadth is positive. 1685 stocks have advanced while 1034 have declined.
