The afternoon session has been uneventful. The markets are trading absolutely flat, with the Sensex quoting at 16251, lower by four points and the Nifty placed at 4860, up two points. The mid-cap and small-cap indices are also subdued.
Larsen & Toubro is the major gainer, up 2.2% at Rs 1,533. Maruti has strengthened by 1.7% at Rs 1393 and DLF has added 1.3% at Rs 292.
On the other hand, Tata Motors has weakened by 2.9% at Rs 666, Hindustan Unilever has shed 2.6% at Rs 235 and Jaiprakash Associates has slipped 1.8% to Rs 130.
And index heavyweight Reliance Industries is trading lower at Rs 970, down 6 points.
The market breadth is neutral. Out of 2821 stocks traded on the BSE, there are 1327 advancing stocks as against 1377 declines.
