Markets recover losses

The Indian markets have recovered from its day's low of 15,652 and is now at 15,790, down 130 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 4,713, down 44 points.

The Sensex slipped to a low of 15,652 and is now at 15,691, down 223 points. The NSE Nifty is 4,689, down 68 points from its previous close.

Tata Steel and Hindalco have slipped 4% each to Rs 534 and Rs 135, respectively.

HDFC, Wipro, DLF, Tata Power, TCS and Reliance Infrastructure have slipped 2% each to Rs 2,340, Rs 633, Rs 307, Rs 273, Rs 713 and Rs 1,011, respectively.

Tata Motors, Sterlite, ITC, ACC, BHEL and Jaiprakash Associates have declined over 1% each.

Hero Honda and Bharti Airtel are the only prominent gainers on the Sensex, up 1% each at Rs 303 and Rs 1,599, respectively.

The market breadth is negative, out of 2,594 shares traded, 1,497 have declined and 1,000 have advanced so far on the BSE.

Among the sectoral inidces, the BSE metal index is the major dragger on the Sensex, down 2% at Rs 15,269. The IT ,oil & gas and power indices are down 1% each.
