| Markets remain firm |

 The markets are trading firm for some time now. The Sensex is up 176 points at 16,918 and the Nifty is quoting at 5,026, up 50 points.
HDFC is the top gainer on the BSE, gaining 5.27% at 2,667. Tata Motors has risen by 2.81% to Rs 616 and TCS has gained by 2.71% at Rs 600.
Maruti, Hero Honda, Infosys and ITC are up 1-2% each, while RCom, Tata Steel and REL Infra have gone up by upto 1% each.
On the losing side, Bharti Airtel is trading 3% down at Rs 429, Jaiprakash Associates has shed 1.89% and is now trading at Rs 252,
while Hindalco has declined by 0.76% to Rs 137.
The market breadth remains positive, with 57.10% of the the traded scrips in the green. Out of 2,814 stocks traded during the day,
1,682 stocks advanced and 1036 saw a decline.
