Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) launched its utility vehicle (UV) Eeco in Hyderabad on Wednesday. “The new family car is designed keeping in mind the needs of the Indian customers. Eeco will help us strengthen our presence in the C segment and give us good numbers,” IV Rao, managing executive officer (engineering) of MSIL, told mediapersons here.

Eeco comes in three variants with a price tag of between Rs 2.67 lakh and Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad). Rao said Eeco complies with Bharat Stage (BS)-IV, the fourth car from the MSIL stable to meet these emission norms, with the other three being Ritz, Estilo and SX4. Replying to a query, he said Eeco was designed to fulfil the requirements of Omni customers and that both Eeco and Omni will co-exist.
