Maruti Suzuki has launched the Ritz to consolidate its share in the fast-growing market for compact cars. This segment accounts for almost 70 per cent of the car market and Maruti Suzuki already has a 58 per cent share with brands like the Swift.
While the Swift, according to the company, has sportiness in its DNA, the Ritz with extra space is a family car. The premium end of the compact segment, where the Ritz has been positioned, has grown at 26 per cent per annum in the last five years, while the segment itself has grown 16 per cent. Sector experts say growth in the segment is largely driven by customers who are third-generation car owners used to the space of a sedan car but don’t mind buying a feature-packed compact car that delivers superior fuel efficiency and sports contemporary European styling.
Like the Swift, the Ritz will compete with the Hyundai Getz and i10 and General Motors’ UVA. The petrol-fired Ritz is available in three variants and will cost between Rs 390,000 and Rs 480,000, while the diesel engine-kitted Ritz (two variants) will cost between Rs 465,000 and Rs 499,000. Prices are introductory and ex-Delhi showroom.
To a question whether the Ritz priced and positioned directly against the Swift will cannibalise the latter’s sales, company officials say they expect Swift sales to drop by about 9 per cent. Swift on an average sells around 9,000 units per month.
i think ritz is more free inside than swift because swift seems narrow at back seat and so compact to sit were as ritz is better inside and outside so shift to ritz
Ritz is the practical and affordable car for middle class people like me. I test drove many hatchbacks and finally decided to buy Ritz because, its from Maruti, hence sales, service and resale value are all very much satisfactory. Also, Ritz diesel is more refined and providing good mileage too.
Ritz is an engineering marvel. The car is as solid like a rock. I simply like the boomerang tail lamp and the new age design is very futuristic. the interiors of ritz is cool and ensures practicality with easy ingress and egress. Maruti has also priced Ritz attractively. If you are looking for hatchback, test drive Ritz and you will simply love it!!!
Both ritz and swift with K series enine are good cars. Swift is 4 years old and the rear part is claustrophobic. Though the back portion looks wider from outside, it is cramped inside. Swift is good for bachelors or newly wed. Ritz incorporates better technology and styling. Ritz is very roomy and good car for a family. Moreover Ritz got contemporary styling and tall boy design. Ritz petrol is better than Swift Petrol. Regarding Diesel engine, both are almost same
many dislike ritz due to its unfamilliar and ugly new look especially it's rear shape. but if you get inside, seated and start driving you will experience what's really ritz is. go for a petrol ritz. superb performance with 1.2l engine and its 85bhp power.
guys now swift is available with k series engine more better gear lever and mileage n performance think again before buying ritz now

swift is old do not have d look in comparision of ritz.compaire the interior as have both cars at my garraze and i feel driving better with ritz leaving logan behind

After spending months to decide..finally i have booked Ritz. Compared i10 Magna and Swift as well but found Ritz the best value for money. Engine is great, best seating and utilization of space.
I test drove both the cars and now booked Ritz. :).. Ofcource Swift is a good car but to me it looks outdated. Ritz has the same performance as tat of swift but with fresh look and comfortness. I would say this as the latest, attractive and advanced Swift with a controversial rear look, which even the swift had when launched.
Even the price is better i.e. few thousand lower than Swift and Quick delivery. So I believe Ritz will the Super Star in this segment.

ritz is a best choice in its segment.ritz is very comfortable to drive and better utilisation of space. Very smooth gear shifting and you donot even w if the engine is on.good in milleage...superb car in its segment

Want to buy a car within 6Lacs & short listed Maruti Swift diesel (VDI with ABs and Ritz with ABS (diesel).many often times I have to drive in roads having large pot holes and bouldery metals. which one will be the best for me in view of performance, efficiency and reliability plz suggest
Ritz is of newer technology-DOHC not swifts SOHC{double overhead cam vs Single overhead cam}.K series is the best petrol engine from Maruti ever.
Ritz has more space-especially backseats of swift are cramped.
Ritz is priced less
Ritz petrol gives much more mileage yet almost eqaual power.
Ritz has tallboy design to ease getting in and out of the car, high riding position ,better maneuverability
Ritz got dash and interiors are much better than swift
Ritz is of better build than swift
If you need anything even better when it comes to features or superb interior available, go for i20 or even a Fabia. But whe it comes to price vs engine performance ritz is a Value For Money Car (VFM)
i feel dat ritz is a good practical family car..swift is just a sporty car,not ideal for a family.swift has become too common and interiors look old wheras ritz is a newly designed car and interiors are well build and also gives the advantage of tallboy car while driving,i would suggest to go 4 ritz bcoz the cost are almost the same

Go for Ritz, if u compare it with Swift coz it has a totally new look, more boot space than swift. Also if we look at Swift, the interior is still same as it was launched 5 years ago and whenever maruti will introduce the new interior of swift the market value of old swift will be crushed...

swift is crap car don't ever make the mistake of buying it,ritz is the best I sure am proud to be a owner of ritz
no!!!!!!!!!!!swift is anytime better and when it gets the facelift and new k-series engine it will beat the ritz hands down ritz is a good car no oubt but not better than the swift! the only problem with swit is that its to common!!!!!
I think ritz is just fab car in comparsion with swift.Ritz feature are really aesthtic and superb.So if you are planning to buy hatchback with classy features and unmatched looks.go for ritz man,because it's worth it.

The gear knob is so smooth and the interiors are so good, the boot space is more den swift, swift is just wider in shape, else evrythng is better and improved in ritz, diesel engines are same in both the cars, while in petrol , ritz has k series engine which gives 18 km per ltr while swift petrol lacks in i. wat all u need in a family as well as sporty car, ritz has al in it. swift is 4 yrs old model, so common everywhere, ritz is something new which is hitting d market, and wil be next swift.

the swift's rear seat is so tight and it lacks in fuel efficiency.i suggest you to go for the ritz which is very comfortable and is one of the silent operators in india. it is also costs less when compared to swift

guys i accept dat ritz hav good performance but not looks and know swift is also available with k series engine and thing about most common anything which is good bcoms very common guys so just think once again i m goin for swift with k series engine

guys: You all talking about the space, space of Ritz, but if you really compare swift with Ritz the space is same, the problem with Swift is that it has a less glass space on all the sides thats all!! where as Ritz has more glass space. Comparing Swift and Ritz like comparing Ashwarya Rai's two eyes!!
