Maruti to showcase concept MPV at Auto Expo
Press Trust of India / New Delhi Dec 24, 2009, 15:27 IST

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India today said it will hold world premier of a concept multi-purpose vehicle, designed exclusively by Indian engineers, at the Auto Expo starting here from January 5.

The company will showcase 17 vehicles at the fair, under the theme 'Joys of Life', celebrating its 26 years of journey in the Indian auto market.

"Maruti is all set for a world premiere of Concept R3, its first compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) concept, at the forthcoming Auto Expo 2010 in January," the company said in a statement.

Concept R3 has been conceptualised, designed and built from the scratch by a team of Indian designers in the country over a time span of nine months, it added.

Besides this concept MPV, the company's list of displays would include new launches such as Eeco and showcasing luxury sedan Suzuki Kizashi, which would be imported exclusively for the show.

The company's pavilion showcasing the 17 vehicles would spread over an area of 4,690 sq mt.

"Over the years, Maruti Suzuki has ushered in millions of joyous moments in the form of delivering reliable products... and forging a long-term relationship with its valued customers. 'Joys of Life' as a theme celebrates this long history," Maruti Suzuki Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek said.
