McDonald’s, a food service retail chain, is planning to invest Rs 30 crore to open 10 restaurants in the southern states. The chain currently operates 23 restaurants in the four states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karantaka.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai after opening its first standalone restaurant, Ranjit Paliath, director-southern region, McDonald’s, said across the country the company was planning to open 25-30 stores by 2010, of which 10 will come up in southern states.
