Micro Technologies launches innovative device for farmers
Press Trust of India / Mumbai Dec 18, 2009, 18:27 IST

Leading IT-based security solutions developer, Micro Technologies (India) Ltd, today announced the launch of Micro Jai-Kisan, an innovative device for farmers.

Micro Technologies has come up with a cost-effective product, Micro Jai Kisan, to remotely manage the motor pumps by using a phone. The device is a small SIM card that is installed between the switch and the electrical water pump.

By a simple phone call from a GSM, STD phone or even by an SMS command, the farmer can turn the pump on or off and also remotely know the status of the pump, Micro Technologies Chairman and Managing Director, P Sekhar, told reporters here.

"We hope this device reaches farmers across the country and helps them multifold," Sekhar said, adding "that the device is a cost-effective solution and the product will soon be available across the country.

Today, farmers have to make multiple trips to their farms to check if there is adequate electricity to turn up the pump to water their crops. This device will help them in reducing water leakage, pilferage and wastage, Sekhar said.

Micro Technologies is a leading global developer, manufacturer and marketer of IT-based security solutions for its clients across the globe. The company's products range includes the much-needed security devices, life-support systems and web-based software.
