Food-testing services provider MicroChem today said it plans to expand its footprint to cities beyond Mumbai and Delhi, besides increasing its headcount in the country.
"We intend to have a presence in around 10 places in the next 18 months, including in Chennai and may be Kolkata," MicroChem Founder Deepa Bhajekar told reporters here.
MicroChem currently has a small unit in Delhi and plans to doublehead count in the country from around 60 to 120 over the next one-year, Bhajekar added.
Bangalore, Kochin and Hyderabad are the destinations among others the company is looking at to expand its operations.
Meanwhile, MicroChem has formed a 50:50 joint venture with global food safety and quality services provider, Silliker, to expand its existing capabilities.
"It is a blend of technology and integrity. Through this tie-up, we are aiming to be able to provide test reports of world-class quality, accuracy and reproducibility in test results," Bhajekar said.
