Microsoft launches new productivity suite

Microsoft Corporation India Private Ltd today announced the launch of its Office 2010, Share Point 2010, Vision 2010 and Project 2010 productivity software for business customers in India and across the world.

More than 90 million existing business customers worldwide can start taking advantage of the latest office productivity suite from Microsoft, which delivers an unified productivity experience across PCs, the web and mobiles, a Microsoft statement said.

As per independent technology research company Forrester Research, companies deploying Office 2010, Share Point 2010, Exchange 2010 and Office Communications Server 2007, can expect more than a 300 per cent return on their investment in less than a year. They will also see more than $13 million in savings over a three-year period and an average savings of more than two work weeks per year.

"The excitement in Indian for Office 2010 is very high," said Microsoft India Chairman Ravi Venkatesan. The beta version saw over 1.3 million downloads and over 2,000 businesses are already making the transition to the latest version, including TCS, Cognizant Technologies, Lowe Lintas, Virgin Mobile, Mindtree Consulting, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro and HCL Infosystems.
    
Microsoft also announced that Office Mobile 2010 will soon be available on Windows 6.5 phones and a broad range of Nokia smart phones, starting with Nokia's business-optimised range, the E-series.
