Arcelor-Mittal chief LN Mittal, Infosys Chief Mentor NR Narayana Murthy, hotelier PRS Oberoi and the man behind the Nano, Ratan Tata, are among those from trade and industry who have been honoured with the Padma Vibhushan this year. RK Pachauri, co-winner of the Nobel prize, has also got the Padma Vibhushan.
Businessmen and industrialist awardees of the Padma Bhushan are SK Neotia, a promoter of Gujarat Ambuja, Baba Kalyani, who heads one of the biggest auto-component companies, ICICI chief KV Kamath, HCL chief Shiv Nadar and Citigroup chief Vikram Pandit Economists Meghnad Desai and Kaushik Basu have also been awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Economist Nirupam Bajpai, the Indian face of the World Economic Forum, Collette Mathur, and Ficci Secretary General Amit Mitra have been given the Padma Shree. The Padma Shree awardees include journalists Rajdeep Sardesai, Vinod Dua and Barkha Dutt.
