MP govt to include benefits to staff in VI pay panel
Press Trust of India / Bhopal Jun 10, 2009, 14:06 IST

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet decided to include the benefits related to government employees pertaining to submission of report after consideration by the State Pay Commission in the light of the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.

A decision in this regard was taken under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here last evening, an official release said today.

Accordingly, the State Pay Commission headed by A K Agrawal would fix the emoluments including pay structure, allowance and fringe benefits for the employees of the local bodies and the statutory bodies constituted by the State government through its resolution of September 10, 2008.

The Commission would also consider the need for continuing the separate pay allowance and service conditions for the work charged employees and the staff drawing salaries from Contingency Fund.

It would also consider measures to modernise the institutions of the state government and to make them more professional.

The Commission would give suggestions for making service provider institutions in the field, to make the employees more citizen-friendly and to make them accountable to the representative institutions of the local communities.

As per the Cabinet decision, the Commission will go into discrepancies in pay scales of different cadres in the light of recommendations of the Sixth Pay panel, the release said.

The State Pay panel would make suggestions regarding re-fixation of pension of pensioners of the State in the light of recommendations of the Pay Commission setup by the Centre.

It would also make suggestions regarding incentive/reward for employees to maintain their efficiency.

While making its recommendations the Commission would keep in mind the economic condition and vigilant management of public finances and financial resources of the State as well as the demand in view of its economic development and other related factors, they said.

The Commission would fix relativity in the pay scales for different services with a view to attracting efficient and competent people to concerning services as part of the efforts to make Madhya Pradesh a modern, well-governed and developed State, the release said.

The Commission would submit its report by June 30, and if necessary, it would submit interim report on the recommendations that have been finalised, the release added.
