MTDC to hold tourism expo along with Singapore's CEMS

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has tied-up with Singapore-based Conference and Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd (CEMS) to organise a first-of-its-kind international event to boost travel and tourism in the country.
The event — Mumbai International Tourism Expo (MITE) — will be held here from January 7 to 9, 2010.
"With travel and tourism being one of the largest industries globally, India has emerged as a key player in this sector and with MITE, we will explore the number of targeted influential segments to maximise and draw in the interests of local and international buyers and sellers," CEMS' Managing Director, Edward Liu, told reporters here.
The event will be instrumental in providing an interactive platform for exchange of knowledge and promotion of ideas, trends and opportunities, Liu added.
