| Murthy's fund to kick off in March |

Catamaran Venture Fund, promoted by Infosys Technologies Chairman and Mentor Narayan Murthy will be active for investments from March 2010.
 “I am in touch with many of the entrepreneurs. Many of them have sent me their business plans. We are waiting for our office to be ready. From March onwards, we will be much more active,” said Murthy at the sidelines of the TiE Entrepreneurial Summit 2009.
Murthy has raised a corpus of Rs 600 crore for the fund. He and his wife Sudha Murthy have sold some of their shares in Infosys to raise capital for the fund. Murthy will retire from Infosys in 2011.
On the size of each investment, Murthy said, “There is no specific sum defined. It would depend on the idea, valuation, at what stage they come, etc.”
But he did say that the fund would be across stages and sectors. “We would do funding across stages like angel funding, early-stage, mezzanine and late-stage investment. And will cover see every sector of the economy,” he added.
