Sugar, steel and yarn manufacturer Nahar Industrial Enterprises today announced a net profit of Rs 32.71 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

The firm had a net loss of Rs 11.19 crore during the same quarter a year ago, Nahar Industrial Enterprises said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

For the year ended March 31, 2009, net profit of the company declined to Rs 1.10 crore, from Rs 2.36 crore in the previous year.

Total income of the company rose to Rs 999.84 crore in the year under review from Rs 875.37 crore during the last fiscal.

The company board recommended a final equity dividend of Re 1 per share for the year ended March 31, 2009, it said.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 39.55, down 4.70 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
