Pilibhit MP Varun Gandhi may be out of favour in the BJP, with various leaders blaming his hate-speech for the party’s dismal performance, but he is unfazed. When he went to Lucknow and the local BJP leaders refused to meet him, Gandhi spent a few hours at the local RSS office where he proposed that RSS leaders ask the BJP to appoint him general secretary of the party in charge of Uttar Pradesh. He also suggested that he be given charge of the party’s youth wing at the national level.
