New structure at Mahindra Satyam
BS Reporter / Hyderabad Jul 01, 2009, 00:37 IST

Mahindra Satyam today announced new leadership positions, apart from the CEO and CFO positions announced earlier.

A S Murthy, former CEO, will now play the role of chief technology officer (CTO), responsible for technology competency and innovation, as well as the creation of technology assets and IP. He also leads specialised services such as engineering, consulting and IMS.

Similarly, Rakesh Soni will be chief operating officer, heading the manufacturing, BFSI, emerging verticals and strategic accounts.

He will also lead the integration, corporate planning and strategy portfolio. Rakesh comes into Mahindra Satyam from Tech Mahindra.

The other appointments include Keshab Panda, who will head business development and operations for manufacturing, BFSI, emerging verticals and strategic accounts. Another Tech Mahindra associate, Atul Kanwar, also moves into Mahindra Satyam as head of business development and operations for the regional business groups (Europe, Australasia, Middle-East, Africa and India), while Manish Mehta will head the delivery for these businesses.

T R Anand will head the business development and operations for telecom, media & entertainment, tech infra and semiconductor verticals, in addition to channel business through alliance partners, and Tech Mahindra and new technology companies. While Ravi Bommakanti will head the delivery for these businesses, Hari T will handle the dual role of chief people officer and chief marketing officer (CPO & CMO). Last week, the company appointed C P Gurnani as its chief executive officer and S Durgashankar as its chief financial officer.

Mahindra Satyam also announced a series of organisational changes and initiatives aimed at sustaining the recovery and positioning of the company for long-term growth.

The new structure aims at simplifying the organisation design in line with the proposed business plans and eliminates duplication in roles, while ensuring minimal disruption in customer facing leadership.

PTI adds: Six months after the central government superseded Satyam Computer’s board and appointed its nominees, it is likely to move the Company Law Board this week for recalling these directors, to effectively hand over the management to the new owner of the IT firm, Tech Mahindra.
