Deficient rains will not have any impact on rural demand for FMCG products, Godrej group Chairman and Managing Director Adi Godrej said today.

"We do not think there will be any impact on rural demand because of the deficient monsoon," Godrej told reporters here.

"Lower output due to deficient monsoon will not affect the income of the rural masses as prices will make up for it. Despite the kharif crop not doing well, we expect the rabi crop to do well," Godrej said.

The consumer products division of the Godrej Group grew by 22 per cent during the April-June period and in July-August the company hopes to do even better, he added.
